Registration Confirmation: Applications are accepted now and are recorded for priority. Tuition payments can only be made after you receive a registration confirmation.

Schedule: ARTS|TECH ACADEMY courses are “semester-based” and run concordantly with the standard public school calendar as far as observation of holidays and other “no-school” days.  All Fall Session courses begin the week of October 3rd.  All courses except the short-duration 4 KIDS courses run each week (except Thanksgiving week) through and including the week of December 9th.  

Costs: Needs-based financial aid is available to partially-offset class tuition for students who qualify (subject to availability).

  • The six-week “Kids!” classes are $30 per semester.
  • Hour long classes are $70 per semester (may be paid in two equal payments).
  • Hour and a half classes are $100 per semester (may be paid in two equal payments).
  • All classes include the use of books at no additional charge. If students want to keep their music books there will be a book fee of between $6 and $15 (most music books will be used in the Spring session courses that follows the Fall session courses).  Art students may need to purchase some limited supplies, and musical instruments are not included in the tuition (except that Piano students will be provided instruments for use in the classroom). Use of drum practice pads and sticks in included in the percussion course price. Violins, violas, cellos, saxophones, flutes, clarinets, and trombones are available for highly-subsidized rental rates and may be included as part of a financial aid package.
  • Tuition may be paid using credit card, debit card, PayPal, or automated bank withdrawals through the on-line payment portal or via cash or check at the Box Office. Call for hours.

YOUTH THEATER

THEATER 4 KIDS! (Grades 1-3)

THEATER 4 KIDS! is a fun, yet focused, introductory theater class for beginning elementary school students. The class enables young children to creatively and collaboratively explore the fundamental elements of acting and live theater. Classes Are October 3, 10, 17, 24 (none on Halloween), and November 7 and 14.

BEGINNING ACTING & THEATER (Grades 4-6)

BEGINNING ACTING & THEATER is a beginning theater class for upper elementary school students that focuses on acting techniques, pantomime, vocal projection and character development.

INTERMEDIATE ACTING & THEATER is an intermediate theater class that guides experienced students in rehearsal of appropriate theater elements—acting techniques, pantomime, vocal projection, character development, scene study, monologues, improvisation, stage management, and more. Students must have already had stage experience, acting class experience, and must be reviewed by placement dependent upon faculty’s evaluation of the student.

STAGE MOVEMENT FOR ACTORS (Grades 7-12)

STAGE MOVEMENT FOR ACTORS is an intermediate/advanced theater class that guides experienced students in a process of exploration that centers on the physical relationship of the actor to the physical reality of the stage including sound, props and costumes. Students must have already had stage experience, acting class experience, and must be reviewed by placement dependent upon faculty’s evaluation of the student.

ACADEMY PLAYERS (By Audition)

The ACADEMY PLAYERS is an advanced class that offers performance-based opportunities that takes the actors through audition, casting, blocking, table read, and rehearsal to a final performance of a selected play. Students must be enrolled in an ArtsTech Academy theater class, must be at least in the 4th grade, and must audition and be accepted by the faculty in order to participate. The ACADEMY PLAYERS perform an entire production at the end of the school year, and select participants may be given the opportunity to be a part of the Cultural Center’s full stage productions.

MUSIC FUNDAMENTALS FOR MUSICAL THEATER offers the study of harmony, theory and ear training as it applies to students interested in musical theater. The emphasis is on sight singing as students learn aspects of notation, clefs, melody, meter, rhythm, notes and rests, form, harmony, dynamics, intonation and elementary keyboard skills. Classwork includes vocalizing, solo and ensemble sight singing, rhythm clapping and beginning rhythmic and melodic dictation.

The YOUTH CHORUS class offers a high quality vocal arts education to students in a professional school setting. Students will learn basic music elements, note & rhythm reading, harmony, and technical execution of their voice. Students will also learn and be guided in rehearsal of appropriate music materials – technique, diction, breath support, projection, song form, solo & ensemble performance in a wide range of styles, note & rhythm reading, harmony, etc.

The BEGINNING PIANO Youth Piano Conservatory class is designed for beginning students of the piano who want to study basic keyboard skills and music theory, and develop regular practice habits. During both group and individual class instruction students learn to read solo and ensemble piano scores. Regular access to a piano or keyboard between classes is required to complete weekly assignments successfully. Class assignment is at the discretion of the instructor.

  • Instruments in the Piano Lab will be provided to all students for use during class.
  • ALL students must have access to their own piano or weighted-action keyboard instrument for home practice.

Students will learn basic music elements, note & rhythm reading, and technical execution of their respective brass instruments. Students will also learn and be guided in rehearsal of appropriate music materials – technique, songs, sketches, Youth Philharmonic performance repertoire, chamber ensembles, etc.

Students will learn basic music elements, note & rhythm reading, rudiments, and technical execution of their respective percussion instruments. Students will learn and be guided in rehearsal of appropriate music materials – technique, songs, sketches, Youth Philharmonic performance repertoire, chamber ensembles, etc.

The ART – PERSPECTIVE FUNDAMENTALS for students grades 4th-6th class offers a high quality education in the visual arts focusing on both drawing and watercolor mediums. In a new state-of-the-art classroom lit by halogen and natural light complete with modern personal adjustable drafting tables and a large 60″ flat screen Blu-Ray display, students will learn the core principles of 1 & 2 point perspective and many other important elements and fundamentals of the visual arts.

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT ART MATERIALS:

  • Some additional art materials including paper, paints, markers, pencils, brushes, etc. may need to be provided by the student. Financial assistance may be available.

Should your schedule change and you find yourself needing to attend a performance on a different date — if you give the Box Office at least 48 hours notice prior to your ticketed performance, management will attempt to exchange your ticket for a different performance of the same show!
