Cultural Center Receives Top Honors at Desert Theatre League Awards

JOSHUA TREE, CA — Garnering the most awards in the Morongo Basin at the 2014 Desert Theatre League Desert Star Awards ceremony, the Hi-Desert Cultural Center received top honors among regional theaters for its blockbuster theatrical production of Moon Over Buffalo — also the highest nominated production in the Hi-Desert. Taking the theatrical comedy category by storm, the Center’s five Desert Star Award-winners are Wendy Cohen and Marge Doyle who shared “Outstanding Director”, Analisa Pilecki for “Outstanding Supporting Actress”, Richie Sande for “Outstanding Supporting Actor” and the entire cast and crew — that also included actors Joy Groves, Howard Cohen, Scott Cutler, Wendy Cohen, Dave Jessup, Hanna Mohn, and crew members Heather Anderson, Joshua Schmid, and Justin Dilling — for the prestigious award of “Outstanding Production” received by the Cultural Center in that same category.

This was our first adjudicated production since recently rejoining the Desert Theatre League, and it’s great to once again be a part of this vibrant performing arts organization. We’ve been honored with many awards in the past, and having this production continue the Center’s long award history is a true testament to the exceptional quality and professionalism of our ongoing productions and the dedication of all involved.Hi-Desert Cultural Center President, Jarrod Radnich
