International Improv/Comedy Festival “Moves-Up” To Joshua Tree
JOSHUA TREE, CA – Comedy and Improv fans now have another popular destination to add to their annual list of must-experience festivals. Featured by the Palm Springs Life Magazine, having hosted luminaries such as Hal Williams and National Improv Network founders Nick Armstrong and Bill Binder, and with combined talent that has been seen on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Conan, The Office, Parks and Recreation, The New Girl, Funny or Die, and more — the former “Coachella Valley Improv/Comedy Festival” has moved to its new home in the burgeoning art mecca of Joshua Tree, California for next year’s 2016 festival. With already over 100 entry submissions from the United States and beyond, the re-branded “Joshua Tree International Improv/Comedy Festival” will be produced by the Hi-Desert Cultural Center, the region’s performing and visual arts center for more than 50 years — located just minutes from the entrance to Joshua Tree National Park.
The new 2016 festival will be held July 8-10 and will feature an opening gala, comedy and improvisation workshops, and many live performances and appearances from revered household names and up-and-coming stars.
If you are a performer or troupe interested in participating in next year’s festival, or if you want to be kept informed on festival announcements and early bird tickets, send an email to jknight@hidesertculturalcenter.org.
The Joshua Tree International Improv/Comedy Festival is a program of the Hi-Desert Cultural Center, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.
