JOSHUA TREE, CA — The Joshua Tree Philharmonic (JPHIL) will begin its new session Monday, March 19, at 6:30pm at the Hi-Desert Cultural Center’s Blak Box Theater in Joshua Tree.  The innovative community orchestra welcomes new musicians to join and be a part of its stellar new season, entitled “SONIC ECLIPSE: A Symphonic Hitchhike Through The Galaxy” — an intergalactic concert series full of music inspired by the great cosmos!  This special orchestral series will feature meteoric music including selections from THE FIFTH ELEMENT, THE HITCHHIKER’S GUIDE TO THE GALAXY, APOLLO 13, STAR TREK GENERATIONS, DUNE, THE ROCKETEER, HALO, IT’S THE END OF THE WORLD, THE FINAL COUNTDOWN, THE PLANETS (Holst), and many more.  With concerts always selling-out and long waiting lists, audience goers are encouraged to purchase their tickets early (CLICK TO BUY TICKETS) and in advance of the May 18-20 concert performances.

Under the direction of renowned Maestro Jarrod Radnich, the JPHIL is a multi-session, year-round, inter-generational community orchestra comprised of over 50 musicians from the Morongo Basin, Coachella Valley, Inland Empire, High-Desert/Apple Valley region—and beyond.  Open to all instruments and musicians who demonstrate competency on their instrument, all orchestral parts are expertly created and arranged for each musician in the orchestra.

With weekly rehearsals for the new sesson beginning March 19, the JPHIL meets Monday evenings from 6:30-8:30pm that will culminate in three performances May 18-20, 2018 at the Hi-Desert Cultural Center’s state-of-the-art facilities located at 61231 Hwy 62 in Joshua Tree, CA.  There are no fees to participate in the orchestra.  Interested new musicians are encouraged to send an email to info@hidesertculturalcenter.org for more information on participation.  All concert proceeds go toward supporting the Cultural Center’s music programs and student scholarships.

Amazing the guys work so hard. To give Jarrod the pat on the back that he deserves. They pay yearly dues and play for free. Damn rewarding.

GREAT NEWS FOR SEASON PACKAGE TICKET HOLDERS! Should your schedule change and you find yourself needing to attend a performance on a different date — if you give the Box Office at least 48 hours notice prior to your ticketed performance, management will attempt to exchange your ticket for a different performance of the same show!
