JOSHUA TREE — The Hi-Desert Playhouse opens its seventh season production this weekend as highly acclaimed writer/director Steve Stajich returns to the Hi-Desert Cultural Center stage with his uniquely original new play AUTO PARTS.  This professional-quality production also features an all-star cast.  Heralded as a “Prime Pick!” (Pasadena Weekly) with “richly memorable characters which will cling to you even once the show ends” (Frances Baum Nicholson, Stage Struck Review), AUTO PARTS is one play written in four parts where the audience gets to decide on the performance sequence.  With series writing credits including Reba (WB), This Just In (ABC), Politically Incorrect (Comedy Central), and Dennis Miller (Tribune), Stajich’s new play probes the inherent intimacy of conversations inside of cars.  There are elements of love, longing, theft, failure, sex, marriage, infidelity, and of course…murder!  With a suggested rating of PG-13 for some adult language and situations, AUTO PARTS will play one-weekend only March 18 and 19 at 7pm at the Center’s Blak Box Theater.  A cash bar and complimentary refreshments are available at all performances.

Featuring a phenomenal cast of distinguished TV and stage actors, AUTO PARTS’ ensemble includes Trevor Anthony (Modern FamilyGrey’s Anatomy), Frank Noon (RoadhouseSeinfeldSons of AnarchyBasketsAngie Tribeca), Tammie Smalls (Second City LAiO WestBig Breakin’), Kate Kelly (Ruskin Group Theatre, Diagnosis: Dead or AliveKiller Kids), John J. Malone (Harvard/Radcliffe Dramatic Club), Leo Mancini (Off Broadway Siddown! Conversation with the Mob), and Angela Stern (Game of SconesLUKE).
