ROARing Success! The Lion King Jr. – Production Photos

The Hi-Desert Arts Academy program’s Summer Youth Theater mega-musical was a ROARing Success!   We have been receiving nothing but amazing feedback, and our local newspaper has received an unprecedented amount of unsolicited Letters To The Editor* raving about the production!  CONGRATULATIONS to the over 70 youth that participated in this summer’s program — acting, singing, dancing, drumming, drawing, backstage and more! A big THANK YOU to our incredible team of professionals and parents who worked tirelessly mentoring and guiding our area youth so that they could shine on stage — YOU have truly turned our Hi-Desert communities into our very own Pride Lands!

*Due to the overwhelming volume of letters they received, the newspaper could not possibly print them all.  If you wrote a Letter To The Editor, please send us a copy of it and we will be sure to post it on this page.

THANK YOU to Ashley Durham (http://ashleydurhamstudios.com) and Anne Sholtz for their fantastic photography that captured the magic of the production!

I attended the Opening night and was impressed right away by the drummer/singers entertaining us until the show began. This production was impressive for the singing, acting, costumes, make-up, dancing…everything. Evil was very bad indeed (and wonderful fun to watch), and good gave us faith. Bravo for a wonderful production. Nothing “Jr.” about it except for the length.

Our support for this production was money excellently spent to train 29 Palms youth in the art of Theater Arts.

Looking at all the pictures was almost like seeing it all again! Loved being part of it and I’m looking forward to next year’s production. How can we top this great beginning?!

The only thing I didn’t see was the antelope hunt by the pride of lions. Hoped to see that mask again. :-)

    Super photo collage job.

I attended opening night with my (almost) 6 year old grandson. It was his first time to see live theater and he watched with excitement and wide eyes throughout the whole performance. It was obvious that a lot of work was put into the costumes, make-up, backdrops and rehearsals. The actors were professional throughout the whole performance which made it so enjoyable/fun to watch. So glad to see so many of our local children involved in such a great project. A big thank you to all those that were involved. Look forward to seeing what comes next. As for my grandson he wants to know ”when we can do that again!”
