Acclaimed Violinist, Pianist & Cellist to Perform at Blak Box Theater

JOSHUA TREE, CA – The dynamic Elixir Piano Trio, winner of the “Most Distinguished Musician Award” at the 2005 IBLA International Competition in Italy, performs both traditional and modern repertoire with classical, folk, and jazz influences. Concertizing nationally and internationally, the Trio has become instrumental in promoting works by modern composers and is known for its unique and exciting interpretations and passionate performances. Past performances have sold out, and this one-time event is expected to quickly do the same!
The Trio’s matinee concert is a part of the Desert Music Foundation’s Classical Concert Series and will be performed at 2 p.m., Sunday, May 15, 2011 at the Hi-Desert Cultural Center’s Blak Box Theater. This special concert will feature Lucy Nargizyan on Piano, Samvel Chilingarian on Violin and Garik Terzian on Cello. The concert repertoire to be performed includes the following music selections:

III. Finale, Rondo in Gypsies’ style, Presto
Invierno Porteno – Astor Piazzolla

Trio No. 2 in C Minor, Op. 66 – Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy
I. Allegro energico con fuoco
II. Andante espressivo
III. Scherzo: Molto allegro quasi prest
IV. Finale: Allegro appassionato
The day after, the Trio will be presenting a masterclass concert for Morongo Unified School District children titled “Music Through the Ages” and will take place at 11am on Monday, May 16, 2011.
