JOSHUA TREE, CA — The Hi-Desert Cultural Center’s Joshua Tree Philharmonic (JPHIL) will be holding auditions September 9 and 16, 2024 for instrumentalists interested in joining and becoming members of this extraordinary orchestra. Under the direction of renowned Maestro Jarrod Radnich, the philharmonic’s Winter 2024 session will celebrate 20 years of classical, jazz, and contemporary holiday music in its December 12-15, 2024 concert series, entitled: A 20th Anniversary Christmas.

Auditions are by appointment only and will be held September 9 and 16, 2023 and alternate appointment dates may be scheduled upon availability. Auditions are held at the Cultural Center’s state-of-the-art Blak Box Theater in downtown Joshua Tree, located at 61231 CA-62. Open to all instruments and musicians who demonstrate competency on their instrument, all orchestral parts are expertly created and arranged for each musician in the orchestra. Individuals interested in auditioning for the philharmonic are required to sign up for a 15 minute time slot and be prepared to play music of their choosing that represents their proficiency. To schedule an audition or for more information, contact the Cultural Center at info@jtarts.org.

The JPHIL is a multi-session, year-round, inter-generational community orchestra comprised of over 50 musicians from Greater Joshua Tree, Coachella Valley, Inland Empire, High-Desert/Apple Valley regions, and beyond.  Weekly rehearsals take place Monday evenings beginning February 6, 2023, and there are no fees to participate in the orchestra. All concert proceeds go toward supporting the Cultural Center’s music and arts programs.
