
Desert Stories popular sell-out spoken word event tickets now on-sale!
JOSHUA TREE, CA – Desert Stories returns to the Hi-Desert Cultural Center’s Blak Box Theater! This popular sell-out spoken word fundraiser for the rebuilding of our Desert’s iconic theater will be hosted by Cheryl Montelle and will feature new eclectic artists! Come hear more true-life experiences and a few tall tales from some of the Desert’s best storytellers. This event may contain adult language and is intended for mature audiences.
“Spoken Word” is a popular form of literary art or artistic performance in which lyrics, poetry, or stories are spoken and may include singing, movement, and multi-media visual effects. This year’s event will feature celebrated artists Hector Alvarez, Ken Ehrlich, Miri Hunter, Journey, David Lamfrom, Feryat Newman, Laura Sibley, Eva Soltes, Catherine Svehla, Dusty Wakeman, & special guests!
Desert Stories VII will begin with a pre-show cocktail party at 6:30pm with performances beginning at 7pm Saturday February 1, 2014 at the Hi-Desert Cultural Center’s state-of-the-art Blak Box Theatre. Tickets are $20/$25/$35. Light complimentary hors d’oeuvres and a no-host cash bar will be available.
