DRACULA Cast of Characters

DR. SEWARD: An intelligent, fine young Englishman in his 30’s. Head Doctor at the asylum. In mourning over the death of his fiancee Mina. Dr. Seward is a deeply caring and vulnerable human being.

COUNT DRACULA: Seward’s new neighbor; recently moved from Transylvania. A brute who revels in the pain and suffering he brings to others. Capable of enormous charm and courtly manners when such affectations are called for.

PROFESSOR ABRAM VAN HELSING: Old friend of Seward; comes to help Lucy. An older man, still in good physical condition with a razor sharp mind and an intense interest in the super natural.

MINA GRANT:  Sewards true love. Recently died of a mysterious illness involving a loss of blood. A beautiful “undead” woman in her late twenties. (We will see her in various stages of vampirism.)

LUCY WESTPHAL: Mina’s friend. A beautiful young English woman Displaying the same troubling symptoms as her friend Mina. Extremely intelligent, and quite vivacious – when not being drained of blood on a regular basis.

JONATHAN HARKER: Lucy’s fiancé; missing after a trip to Transylvania. A young solicitor. Handsome, impetuous, madly in love with Lucy.

RENFIELD: Psychiatric patient who seems to know a bit too much about what is going on. A lunatic of unique appetites and unfortunate sense of humor. Very physical role. (Age 20’s – 30’s)

A MONSTER: Vicious, supernatural demon; the shape assumed by Dracula when he isn’t concerned about appearances. Part zombie, part werewolf, he loves a good chase, and he is always thirsty.

MARGARET SULLIVAN: Dr. Seward’s loyal assistant at the assylum. Irish. Tries to conceal her working class roots with an air of propriety. In love with Norbert. Becomes a victim of Dracula.

NOBERT BRIGGS: An attendant at the asylum. A rough customer; not entirely a brute, but capable of violent behavior when pushed to it.

THE BRIDES: Vampiresses with seductive ways and dire purpose.

THE CHILD: A young female victim able to appear age 7 -10
