MOJAVE MADNESS Exhibition Opening Gala February 8 | 6-9 PM

YUCCA VALLEY, CA — The Hi-Desert Cultural Center’s Yucca Valley Visual & Performing Arts Center will present its ninth large arts exhibition entitled MOJAVE MADNESS, opening with a special gala and public reception Saturday evening, February 8, from 6-9 pm, and a special members only private advanced viewing February 7.  The exhibition will feature over 40 artists from the Mojave Desert region and is curated by the Center’s Executive Curator, Michael McCall.  The gala will feature a full bar and the opportunity to meet many of the artists.

The exhibition is a survey of how the desert artists express a variety of ideas that reflect their passions in communicating their relationship with living in the harshness and extremes of the Mojave Desert.  These courageous souls produce a variety of artworks that generally and specifically reflect the desert’s influence.  Both self-taught and academy-trained individuals work isolated from the mainstream cities of America to pursue their goals while exercising their passions.  The artist’s passion of creativity and their reflections will be evident throughout the exhibit.

The MOJAVE MADNESS exhibition will be open through April 12, 2020 at the new Yucca Valley Visual & Performing Arts Center, located at 58325 Highway 62 in Yucca Valley, California, 92284.  The gallery is open Thursday through Sunday from 1-6 pm, holidays excluded, and there is no admittance fee.  All artworks in the MOJAVE MADNESS exhibition will also be available for viewing and sale via its online gallery.  More information on the new exhibition and the brand new visual and performing arts center may be found online at YVArts.org.

The Yucca Valley Visual & Performing Arts Center is a program and annex of Hi-Desert Cultural Center, a GuideStar “Gold Status” non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that serves as the regional visual and performing arts organization and arts agency for the communities of Joshua Tree National Park.
