Play & Musical Submissions

In advance of the Desert’s iconic theater re-opening this coming season after extensive renovations, the Center is now accepting play & musical submissions for the 2015-2016 Entertainment Season. Professional playwrights or directors who desire to stage a viable, high-quality production at the Center may send an email to info@hidesertculturalcenter.org

Works submitted may include comedies, dramas, musicals, or original works. Directors are requested to submit a resumé detailing their experience and must include their biography and a list of professional references. Should a submission reach the next stage of consideration, more information regarding the scope of the production and its implementation will be requested. Please note that should a production submission be accepted, it is up to the Center’s discretion as to which of its theaters the production will be performed: the Center’s 300-400+ seat main theater, or the Center’s 100-200+ seat Blak Box Theater. Please include whether the submitted production would be professional, community, or youth theater oriented, and any other information or support materials that may pique our interest.

GREAT NEWS FOR SEASON PACKAGE TICKET HOLDERS! Should your schedule change and you find yourself needing to attend a performance on a different date — if you give the Box Office at least 48 hours notice prior to your ticketed performance, management will attempt to exchange your ticket for a different performance of the same show!

ALL SALES ARE FINAL. NO REFUNDS OR EXCHANGES ARE GUARANTEED; HOWEVER, WE WILL ATTEMPT TO EXCHANGE YOUR TICKET FOR A DIFFERENT PERFORMANCE OF THE SAME PRODUCTION IF REQUESTED AT LEAST 48 HOURS PRIOR TO YOUR TICKETED PERFORMANCE. NO EXCHANGES OR REFUNDS WILL BE ALLOWED FOR A MISSED PERFORMANCE. IN THE EVENT THAT A PERFORMANCE IS CANCELLED FOR WHICH THERE IS NO RESCHEDULED PERFORMANCE DATE, A REFUND FOR THAT TICKETED PERFORMANCE MAY BE ISSUED AT THE OPTION OF THE MANAGEMENT.

NO ALCOHOL, DRUGS, WEAPONS, FOOD, OR GLASS CONTAINERS ALLOWED. NO RECORDING DEVICES, STILL CAMERAS, OR VIDEO CAMERAS PERMITTED. NO TRANSMISSION OR AIDING IN TRANSMITTING ANY DESCRIPTION, ACCOUNT, PICTURE, OR REPRODUCTION OF THE EVENT, GAME, PERFORMANCE, OR EXHIBITION. YOU HEREBY CONSENT TO THE REASONABLE SEARCH FOR ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES, DRUGS, OR WEAPONS. YOU FURTHER CONSENT TO THE USE OF YOUR IMAGE OR LIKENESS INCIDENTAL TO ANY DISPLAY, TRANSMISSION, OR REPRODUCTION OF THE EVENT. MANAGEMENT RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REFUSE ADMISSION OR EJECT ANY PERSON WHOSE CONDUCT IS DEEMED BY MANAGEMENT TO BE DISORDERLY OR WHO FAILS TO COMPLY WITH THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS HEREIN. IN THE EVENT OF A CANCELLATION FOR WHICH THERE IS NO RESCHEDULED DATE, A REFUND FOR THIS TICKET MAY BE ISSUED AT THE OPTION OF THE MANAGEMENT AND MAY NOT INCLUDE ADDITIONAL TICKETING FEES (I.E., TICKETING OPERATIONS FEE, SHIPPING FEES, ETC.).

ALL SALES ARE FINAL. For season ticket holders, no refunds or exchanges are guaranteed; however, we will attempt to exchange your ticket for a different performance of the same production if requested at least 48 hours prior to your ticketed performance. No exchanges or refunds will be allowed for a missed performance. In the event that a performance is cancelled for which there is no rescheduled performance date, a refund for this ticket will be issued.

NO EMOTIONAL SUPPORT ANIMALS ARE PERMITTED; ONLY BONAFIDE SERVICE DOGS ARE PERMITTED, in accordance with California and Federal laws protecting individuals with disabilities. A service dog is defined as a dog that is trained to help a specific individual with a disability with services. A dog will not qualify as a service dog if it is not individually trained to help an individual with a disability (in a way that is related to his or her disability). Pretending to be the owner of a service dog is a criminal misdemeanor.

CHILDREN UNDER FIVE YEARS OF AGE NOT PERMITTED unless stated otherwise in the ticket announcement.
