YOUTH CHORUS
Semester Duration: Week of September 13th – Week of May 15th
Orientation: September 10, 2015 at 6:00 pm
First Class: September 14, 2015
Class Day/Time: MONDAYS from 4:30 -6:00 pm. ONLY for students in grades 7-12. Other vocal and musical classes are available for younger students. Students in grades 1-3 may enroll in Music4Kids! and students in grades 4-6 may enroll in any of the instrument classes as well as the vocal class Music Fundamentals for Musical Theater.

COURSE DESCRIPTION
The YOUTH CHORUS class offers a high quality vocal arts education to students in a professional school setting. Students will learn basic music elements, note & rhythm reading, harmony, and technical execution of their voice. Students will also learn and be guided in rehearsal of appropriate music materials – technique, diction, breath support, projection, song form, solo & ensemble performance in a wide range of styles, note & rhythm reading, harmony, etc.

The mission of the Hi-Desert Arts Academy (HDAA) is to provide a first-class, academically-based, visual and performing arts education to students living in the Hi-Desert and surrounding Southern California regions. Our philosophy and belief is that, regardless of socio/economic factors, all students are capable of academic and personal success when surrounded by parents, teachers, and mentors who not only hold them to the highest of expectations, but also give them the individualized support they need to help them fulfill their potential.
