JOSHUA TREE, CA — The Hi-Desert Playhouse presents CLOSING CREDITS: An Evening With Frank Capra with two performances on Friday and Saturday, March 22 & 23 starting at the new time of 7:30 pm.

Five actors play over twenty roles in Hi-Desert Cultural Center’s (HDCC) next Reader’s Theater staged reading. In this latest play from playwrights Loren Marsters and George D. Morgan, the life and career of iconic Hollywood film director Frank Capra is told from his immigration to America at the age of six, through serving in World War II, to his struggles in the film industry, to the landmark moment when he becomes the first director to have a film win all five of the top Academy Awards, an accomplishment that would not be repeated for another four decades. The cast of HDCC favorites include Michael Lombardo (Coming Attractions, Every Christmas Story Ever Told), William Hart (The Diviners, Coming Attractions), Desert Theatre League (DTL) Award Winning actor Andrew Accardi (Best Actor – DIVINERS), multiple DTL nominated actress Haley Kooyman (The Spitfire Grill, A Christmas Carol, The Red Priest), and multiple DTL Award Winning Best Actress Analisa Pilecki (The Spitfire Grill, Godspell, Mother, Dearest). Directed by William Hart, CLOSING CREDITS: An Evening With Frank Capra takes us on the amazing rags to riches journey of this legendary Hollywood filmmaker.

Where directors, playwrights, and actors rehearse and present exceptional reader’s theater, the Playhouse’s “Fridays! Reader’s Theater Series” showcases superb acting talent in a professional setting with an intent to create thoughtful discussion and social community for live theater actors and enthusiasts.

Elite seating tickets are $18 and General admission tickets are only $12.  All tickets include one drink ticket.  A cash bar is also available.
