Hi-Desert Playhouse announces cast for upcoming romantic comedy, ALMOST, MAINE

JOSHUA TREE, CA — Just in time for Valentine’s Day, the Hi-Desert Playhouse will have audiences falling back in love in John Cariani’s romantic comedy, ALMOST, MAINE.  New Love.  Old love.  True Love.  Lost love.  Audiences will be taken on a whimsical, occasionally perilous, sometimes complicated, and always hysterical journey on the bumpy road of love February 3-12, 2017 at the Hi-Desert Cultural Center in Joshua Tree.

This romantic comedy is told in nine vignettes by the lovelorn residents of the mythical town of Almost in northern Maine.  With all the beautiful bumps and bruises, this sweet, funny, and honest play goes straight to the heart, tickles the funny bone, and always warms the soul.

The extraordinary cast of local artists directed by Playhouse Artistic Director Howard Shangraw includes Playhouse newcomers Cooper Gillespie and Larry Scarano, and Playhouse favorites Scott Cutler (DRACULA), Dawn Davis (A CHRISTMAS CAROL, DRACULA), Christopher Schoonover (A CHRISTMAS CAROL, DRACULA), Jeanette Knight (DOG LOGIC, MOTHERHOOD OUT LOUD), Amy Angel (DRACULA), and Doran Ray (THE SPITFIRE GRILL, DOG LOGIC).  The award-winning cast is sure to tug at your heartstrings and warm your toes in this midwinter night’s dream of a magical star-filled romantic romp through love’s sweet, poignant and unexpected twists and turns.
