NOW HIRING: New Arts Academy hiring educators in Theater, Voice, and Music
JOSHUA TREE, CA — The Hi-Desert Cultural Center and Hope Academy Charter have partnered together to build the region’s first academically-based, performing and visual arts academy, which will bring an unprecedented level of music, drama, and arts education to elementary (age 8+) through high school-aged students in the Hi-Desert and surrounding areas. The new Hi-Desert Arts Academy has added drama/theater, voice/choir, and a youth philharmonic spanning four separate instrument families to this year’s curriculum offerings of Hope Academy Charter, and the partners plan to make the classes available to other similarly-aged students on a space-available basis.
With over 100 students already pre-enrolling, the new Arts Academy is now accepting applications from prospective theater, voice, and music educators who desire to become an integral part of the new Hi-Desert Arts Academy as part-time, independent instructors in their fields of expertise. Expanding on the Cultural Center’s popular arts education courses, the new Hi-Desert Arts Academy is initially looking for at least six educators in the following specialty areas: drama/theater, voice/choir, woodwinds, brass, strings, & percussion. Each area of specialty will be taught in an intimate group class setting once a week for two hours between 3 and 5pm at the Cultural Center’s facilities in Joshua Tree. Instructors will be independently contracted and must pass a live-scan. Compensation will be commensurate with experience. Classes will begin the first week of November and run through the balance of the academic year.
