theARTISTS of the Hi-Desert Cultural Center

Originally est. 1967, re-est. 2014 for the Center’s 50th anniversary

theARTISTS of the Hi-Desert Cultural Center focus on the visual and aesthetic arts. They operate several galleries for public viewing throughout the Joshua Tree National Park desert communities. The Hi-Desert Cultural Center Galleries are located in the foyers of its theaters. And the Hi-Desert Medical Center Galleries are located in various spaces throughout the hospital campus.

We experienced a beautiful and lasting display of art at the Medical Center Galleries with artwork created by Janis Comments, Nancy Miehle, and Jennifer Grandi. They were kind enough to share their work for two quarters – February 2020 through August 2020. It has proven to be a challenging time for all, and art is a constant reminder to stay hopeful and creative. Thank you to all the artists out there who share their encouraging energy through their beautiful works!

theARTISTS hope to seek normalcy during these trying times. We ask you and your artistic friends to reach out to us if you wish to show at the Medical Center Galleries. The opportunity is unique in that it is the only 24-hour gallery in our area. When so many galleries are finding difficulty in keeping their door open, we are in the position to share your beauty to visitors and staff of the Medical Center, alike.

For the time being, theARTISTS are preparing for the upcoming quarter (November 2020 – January 2021), if you or an artist that you know is interested, please reach out to us at

Open to all professional artists, the artwork featured in these galleries are also featured in the Cultural Center’s online gallery and shop. Art is promoted through the Center’s social media, e-newsletter, within concert and show programs, and occasionally on the Cultural Center’s full-color highway marquee. Art sales and further promotion is done through the Cultural Center’s online gallery and shop. A portion of any sale proceeds from these fine art pieces benefits the Hi-Desert Cultural Center and the Hi-Desert Medical Center’s VolunTeen program.

Are you an artist interested in showing in any of our galleries? If so, send us an email at
All artists and their art are reviewed and selected at the gallery’s discretion.

GREAT NEWS FOR SEASON PACKAGE TICKET HOLDERS!
